The video covers how to wire a basic 15 amp single pole light switch with 14 2 electrical wire.
Hooking up electrical switch. Then strip about 3 4 inch of insulation using wire strippers. Install a single pole light switch by connecting the black wire entering the box to the bottom brass colored screw and the black wire leaving the the box to the top brass colored screw. One wire in the pigtail is the line wire and one goes to the switch in box 2 and the third is a single jumper wire needed to hook up the switch in box 1. The electricity flows from the hot wire black through the 2 way switch shown in off position and then to the light and returns through the neutral wire white.
Splice the white wires together and make pigtails of the ground wires and connect one to each switch. By wiring a 2 way switch the circuit below shows the basic concept of electricity flow to the load. Run a cable to the light fixture and another cable to the outlet from which you re drawing power.
Install a 3 wire cable of the same wire gauge from the vanity light to the wall switch. The black wire from the switch connects to the hot on the receptacle. The black and white would be used for the power for the outlet and the vanity light switch.
In the tutorial viewers will see the use of. At the switch the neutral wire is capped unless needed to power a smart switch such as a new dimmer. The source neutral wire on the receptacle is removed and spliced to the white wire running to the switch and to a pigtail back to the receptacle neutral.
