Wiring two doorbells to one transformer. Im wiring up a big house and 2 doorbells 1 on each floor is what the customer wants. Wiring for two doors is the same as for one with the transformer doorbell ringer chime. Hey guys does anyone know how to make 2 doorbell chimes work off of 1 button and 1 transformer.
I have a 2 pair cable going from transformer to the doorbell then over to the doorbell button on the 1st floor. It s possible that the new hardware does indeed work ok with two pros on one 16vac 30va transformer but i d still be on the lookout for power issues. Connect the positive wires from both doorbells to the positive terminal of the transformer.
The trans the chimes are 16v each and say use only a 16v trans with it. Now when i wire up the doorbell can i just tap the 2 wires on the doorbell unit and bring. Some have a different ring chime pattern depending on if the front or back door button is pushed.
Connect the input wires on the transformer to the source circuit using the black to black white to white and ground to green method. The sounding device that produces a ring or chime or other type of sound when someone pushes the doorbell button. Connect one wire from each button to one of the chime contacts.
There is a diagram in the post below if you have to use two transformers. Electrical lighting i just recently replaced my upstairs doorbell with a cheap 15 16v doorbell transformer kit from a home improvement store. Connect the second wire from each button to one of the output.
A doorbell circuit for two or more doors will have a separate contact on the chimes for each door button included. 1 chime works but when i tried to go through the 2nd in series i think it would not go. Wrap them around the terminal then twist the terminal head to tighten it down onto the wires.
